Q. "I'm interested
in redoing my entryway and living room. Could I commission
you to create a set of unique light fixtures? I have
some ideas in mind but I'm not sure how they would work
exactly."
If you have questions
not directly answered here just send me an email and
I'll address them.
Thank you,
Rich Langley
A. "Yes. Though
I primarily create glass art of my own choosing, I enjoy
the challenge of commissioned pieces. I'm always excited
to hear new design ideas from non-professional glass
artists, because it's they whom design without knowing
the limits and boundaries of glass blowing. This innocence
of those limitations helps to push the envelope of what
can be done with hot glass."
Background:
Richard Langley began blowing glass as an apprentice
to Michelle Kaptur in Bend, Oregon in 1997. In 2001
Rich moved to Florence, Montana and opened Cloud Cap
Glass studios. In Florence he started a production line
and taught classes on glass blowing. After two years
Rich sold his stake in the glass studio and moved to
Seattle in order to further his art by participating
in Seattle’s large glass community.
